The series 'Urban Vaginas' express the varying levels of emotional openness I have felt moving through the city. They are my personas/body language/internal-external dialogue when interacting with this urban expanse. To live here is to be constantly visible to others, constantly in relationship to others. I have begun to develop a subtle communication, both an instinctual and intentional tactic, to guide encounters. Inherent in this phenomenon is my acute awareness of my gender and its impact on how people see and relate to me.
